Gold Sand International Hotel – Guest Policies

1) Reservations & Confirmation

• All bookings are subject to availability.

• A reservation is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation message/email with a booking reference number from Gold Sand International Hotel.

• Please ensure your name, phone number, and email are correct at the time of booking.

2) Rates, Meal Plans & Occupancy

• Rates are shown in KES unless stated otherwise and may change based on season/availability.

• BO (Bed Only): accommodation only.

• BB (Bed & Breakfast): accommodation plus breakfast (details/time shared on check-in and/or during booking).

• Prices may vary by occupancy:

  • Single occupancy: 1 adult

  • Double occupancy: 2 adults

• Any additional guest charges (where applicable) will be reflected during the booking process.

3) Check-in, Check-out & Identification

• Check-in: from 2 pm

• Check-out: by 10 am

• Early check-in/late check-out is subject to availability and may attract a fee.

• A valid government-issued ID or passport may be required at check-in.

• The primary guest must meet the hotel’s minimum check-in age requirements.

4) Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made 7 days or more before the check-in date may qualify for a full refund of the deposit.

• Cancellations made 2–5 days prior to check-in may incur a cancellation fee (up to 25% of the total booking amount).

• Cancellations made less than 2 days before check-in may result in forfeiture of the full deposit.

• In the case of a no-show without prior notice, the deposit is forfeited and no refund will be issued.

5) Modification of Reservation

• Reservation changes (dates/guest count/room type) are allowed up to 7 days before check-in, subject to availability.

• Rate differences may apply when dates or room types are changed.

6) House Rules & Guest Conduct

• Please respect other guests and keep noise to a minimum, especially at night.

• The hotel reserves the right to refuse service or end a stay for disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful behavior.

• Guests may be charged for damages, missing items, or excessive cleaning resulting from their stay.

7) Visitors Policy

• For guest safety and comfort, visitors may be restricted to designated areas and times and may be required to present identification. Please confirm with reception.

8) Smoking Policy

• Smoking rules apply as indicated on property/room signage. If smoking is not permitted in rooms, a cleaning fee may apply for violations.

9) Children & Family Safety

• Children must be supervised by an adult, especially around the pool and beach areas.

• Child rates, age definitions, and meal inclusions (if applicable) follow the booking rules displayed at checkout.

10) Pool, Beach & Safety Disclaimer

• Guests use recreational facilities at their own risk and should follow posted safety instructions.

• The hotel is not responsible for incidents resulting from failure to follow safety guidance or signage.

11) Valuables & Lost Items

• Please keep valuables secure. Where available, use in-room safes or reception support.

• Lost-and-found items are held for a limited period. Contact reception as soon as possible if you misplace an item.

12) Service Interruptions & Force Majeure

• Occasionally, maintenance or external factors (e.g., weather, utility interruptions, government directives) may affect services. The hotel will work to minimize impact and advise guests where possible.

13) Privacy

• Guest information is used for booking and service delivery. CCTV may be in use in public areas for security purposes.
